Support Australian owned Businesses

With the impact of COVID-19 and trade tensions between Australia and China simmering, Australian businesses are feeling the financial impact now more than ever. We all need to do our bit to support Australian manufactured and Australian owned businesses to protect local interest during these tough times. Every little bit counts!

Buy Australian-made products

 Often easier said than done! In many cases it may not be obvious where the products are manufactured however only Australian products and companies bear the official Australian Made logo. It is a registered certification trademark, and can only be used on products that are registered with the not-for-profit Australian Made Campaign Ltd, and that meet their criteria.

Benefits to the local economy

Buying locally may cost a little more but will reap benefits in the long run. Buying local means you are boosting the economy, creating jobs and supporting your local community. This filters through to regional growth which in turn filters through to the national economy.

Many online businesses are based outside of Australia (even though they do their best to make their website look like it is Australian based business) This of course means they are exempt from GST, not providing local jobs or using local products, which hurts the National economy. Others like all the big Online Travel Agents are based overseas meaning that all the commission is going abroad, again doing nothing for the local or national economy.

Supporting locals is the right thing to do. If you don’t support your local businesses, they will eventually dry up !
