Do you cater for NICU families?
Yes. We understand that having a baby in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Royal Women's Hospital or the Royal Children's Hospital is an enormously stressful experience. NICU stays can last days, weeks or months, and our fully self-contained apartments — with kitchen, laundry, free parking and flexible booking arrangements — are well suited to extended family stays. Do you offer flexible cancellations for hospital stays?
Yes. We understand that medical situations, surgical dates and hospital discharge times change unexpectedly. We offer flexible date changes and cancellations for hospital-related bookings — please contact us directly to discuss your booking rather than cancelling online, and we will work with you to find the best solution.
What is VPTAS and do you accept it?
The Victorian Patient Transport Assistance Scheme (VPTAS) is a Victorian Government program that provides financial assistance towards accommodation and travel costs for patients who live more than 100 kilometres from Melbourne and need to travel for specialist medical treatment. We fully support VPTAS claims and provide all receipts and written documentation required. Please let us know at the time of booking that you intend to make a VPTAS claim and we will ensure everything is in order. For eligibility information, visit the VPTAS website.
Is parking free for hospital patients and families?
Yes — free secure on-site parking is included for all guests who book directly with us. This is a significant saving compared to daily hospital and city parking rates, particularly for extended stays. Please note height restrictions apply as our building uses car stackers — large 4WDs and vehicles over standard height may not fit. Contact us before arrival if you are unsure.
Do you accommodate long-stay hospital guests?
Absolutely. Many of our guests are staying for extended treatment courses, post-surgical recovery, or supporting a family member through a long hospital admission. We welcome stays of any length, and offer discounted rates for stays of 7 nights or more. Contact us directly to discuss long-stay pricing tailored to your situation.
Can I book in advance for a planned procedure or surgery?
Yes, and we strongly recommend it for planned admissions to Melbourne Private Hospital, the Royal Women's Hospital, or any other Parkville facility. Booking your apartment at the same time as confirming your procedure date means one less thing to organise. We offer flexible cancellation terms for planned medical stays in case your dates change.
Do you have wheelchair accessible rooms?
Yes. Wheelchair accessible rooms and disabled bathrooms are available on request. Please mention your accessibility requirements at the time of booking so we can allocate the most suitable apartment for you.
Can I check in after hours if I'm coming from the hospital?
Yes. Our reception is staffed Monday to Friday 8am–2pm and Saturday 9am–2pm, but we offer after-hours check-in via an automated system for arrivals outside these hours. If you anticipate a late arrival — due to a delayed discharge, late procedure, or travel from regional Victoria — please contact us during reception hours before your arrival date to arrange your after-hours access instructions.
Bookings and Cancellations
What is your cancellation policy?
72 hours' notice is required for standard cancellations. For hospital-related bookings where circumstances change unexpectedly, please contact us directly and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Can I change my booking?
Yes, subject to availability and our Terms and Conditions. Please contact reception as early as possible to discuss any changes to your dates.
Can I make a booking for another person using my credit card?
Yes, but we will need a signed credit card authorisation form. If booking for a third party it is best to call or email reception to obtain the authorisation form before check-in, to avoid any issues on arrival when the guest does not have the card.
Will my credit card be secure when booking through your website?
Yes. Booking directly through our website is 100% secure. We use a third-party agent to manage our booking system using the most up-to-date encrypted tools available. You can also book and pay directly from your bank account.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept Australian currency cash, Visa, Mastercard, Amex and Eftpos. Visa and Mastercard payments are subject to a 1.25% surcharge.
Check-In and Check-Out
What are your reception hours?
Our reception is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 2pm, and Saturday from 9am to 2pm. We are closed Sundays and Public Holidays. Outside of these hours, calls are diverted to our after-hours manager.
What time is check-in and check-out?
Check-in is from 2pm. Check-out is before 10am. We can sometimes accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs subject to availability, though this cannot be guaranteed and may incur an additional fee.
Can I check in after reception is closed?
Yes. If you anticipate arriving after reception hours, please contact us well before your arrival during reception hours to obtain your after-hours check-in instructions for our automated system.
What do I need to bring when I stay?
Personal items only. Everything else is provided — linen, towels, toilet paper, crockery, cutlery, cookware and more. For longer stays, our in-apartment washer and dryer means you can pack light.
Can you store my luggage?
Yes. Short-term luggage storage is available in our secure luggage room.

Do you have free parking?
Yes — free secure on-site parking is included for all guests who book directly with us. Guests booking through a third-party travel agent are charged $20 per day for parking. Please note height restrictions apply as the building uses car stackers — large 4WDs and oversized vehicles may not fit. Contact us if you are unsure about your vehicle.
Do you have free WiFi?
Yes. Complimentary WiFi is included with all bookings. As this is a shared service across all apartments, we ask that guests use it considerately.
What star rating are you?
We are a self-rated 4-star serviced apartment property.
Are your apartments serviced regularly?
Stays of less than 8 nights receive a daily service. Stays of 8 nights or more receive a weekly service. Additional servicing can be arranged on request.
Are your apartments secure?
Yes. The building requires key card access throughout. Common areas are monitored by CCTV security cameras.
How much do baby cots cost?
Baby cots suitable for infants under 12 months are available at no extra cost. Please request one at the time of booking.
Are sightseeing and activity bookings available?
Yes. A range of Melbourne sightseeing tours and activity brochures are available from reception, and our team can assist with bookings.
Getting Here
How far is Q Squared from Melbourne Airport?
We are located 21km from Melbourne (Tullamarine) Airport. Allow 30–40 minutes by car depending on traffic.
How do I get from the airport to Q Squared?
A standard taxi costs approximately $50. A maxi taxi for groups of more than 4 passengers costs approximately $70. By public transport, take the Skybus ( skybus.com.au) into the city, then tram number 57 from Elizabeth Street — alight at stop 10.
Is it easy to get a taxi from Q Squared?
Yes. Our reception team has a direct line to a taxi company and can arrange one for you.
